We have had a wonderful summer with lots of outings and holidays to
Northumberland and to Settle.
We had such a fun-packed holiday in Northumberland with Hanson Travel, who were excellent. It was such a treat to go by coach everywhere and have our own tour guide arranging everything. They put in so many extra visits – it will be hard to describe everything in these few pages. We are already planning another holiday with them -this time to Norfolk, details enclosed.
Our walking holiday to Settle was excellent – thank you Jenny! – and the lovely finale was a trip on the Settle to Carlise railway.
Looking ahead to our Autumn season we have lunches and lectures, which always prove popular, with good speakers and a range of topics. I hope there is something for everyone. Our Christmas get-together this year will be coffee and cake at The Knaresborough Inn with an opportunity to visit the Christmas Tree Festival at St John’s Church, just a short walk away.
It is also an exciting time for our Association as we will celebrate 50 years in 2028. I would be pleased to hear from you, especially from people who have shared many of those 50 years, but also from new members who have something to offer in the planning. I really would like it to be a special Golden year. We will meet at The Green Hut in Harrogate again to have a brainstorming session early in 2027 and there will be more details later in the year.
In the meantime, enjoy the rest of the summer and I look forward to meeting you at our events.
