On a cool August day, we were guided around this ancient woodland by Woodland Trust Rangers, who provided interesting information at the various view points and follies, which had been created in the 18th century by the Aislabies to impress their guests. From the very knowledgeable rangers, we learned about the background to what we could see, and the work involved in keeping the views clear!
The paths were clear but some were steep, and made some of us wish we were younger!
