A very hot day, as it turned out, but glorious sunshine to enjoy the views with our super coach driver who got us around the many bends and wiggly roads! The village ladies at Kirby Grindalythe put on a marvellous spread of tea, scones and cakes for us, while we heard about history of the church and its Italian mosaic, before climbing the low meadow-covered hill to see it for ourselves.
Scampston Gardens were suffering from the prolonged heat as to be expected, but still gave colour and variety, topiary and a variety of grasses from the Piet Oudorf design. Some also braved the parkland walks finding many more delights.
