Our Annual Fundraising Quiz at St Wilfrid’s was well attended with 10 tables of eager quizzers and a table groaning with raffle prizes.
Our quiz master gave us a wide variety of questions – as well as random chocolates for interesting answers, queries or points he had not thought of!
The fish and chips were tasty as usual and served in cardboard boxes, along with individual condiments, and wooden forks that made clearing away easy at the end. They were accompanied with dishes of curry sauce, and also mushy peas for the traditional Yorkshire folk.
Big thanks are due to the quiz master and his assistant ( Kevin & June), to Allan Stalker for running the raffle which made £325, to the Stalker family for serving the fish and chips so quickly, to everyone who donated raffle prizes and who came and made it a fun evening, and to Helen for organising it all – especially considering it was Helen & Allan’s 55th Wedding anniversary. Allan had remembered – and presented her with a big bouquet of flowers to applause from all.
The total raised for the National Trust from the evening was over £663.
